Infidelity and Melt Downs.
Nov. 27 2008
Greetings my Dear Readers,
It been a rather busy, yet tame couple weeks with nothing getting under my skin enough to warrant a Rant or two. Maybe I'm starting to chill out in my old age
Anyway, this week I've watched the marriage of some dear friends virtually explode, leaving the children reeling and the parents going in separate life directions. The wife needed some space, the husband out of love agreed to move out and give her the break she needed only to learn less then a week later she was dating and sleeping with someone else. Its safe to say this relationship was obviously ongoing before the husband was asked to "Give her some space". The father works weekends with his days off falling during the week, the children are in school during the week, thus making it difficult for him to see his young children. This sudden separation and violation has been difficult on him and being a good father he tries to keep this from his children so they don't see him suffering and he can be strong for them, thus making it all the more difficult.
This is the fourth couple I've seen end this way in the last couple years and in every case small children get caught in the middle, often bounced between both parents and/or used as pawns and played against the other parent. Its unfortunate that the vows of marriage mean so little in today's modern world. Once a sacred union is now nothing more then a union of convenience that most seem to rush into these days because its the fashionable thing to do. Then as soon as the slightest issue occurs its easily and conveniently ended. The meaning of this union lost and the idea of long term commitment are lost on far too many in todays world. The long term effects shatter lives and leave scars that even time struggles to heal. A sad and senseless side effect of todays "Modern" world.
The last 24 hours has also seem the colossal destruction of high tech equipment sending me reeling once again back into the technological stone age, forcing me to limp by on secondary equipment that was never intended to be put into full use. Although the losses in this most unexpected melt down could have been catastrophic I don't expect this down time to last more then a week or two. The recover/rebuild time from this latest melt down could take at least a month but the losses are quite minor when compared to the dark days of the December 2007 nightmare.
This is almost becoming an annual event
Until next time,
Your Cold Hearted Bastard,
D.
